Wunjo (ᚹ) Wisdom for Today

Wunjo is the rune of joy and arrives today to bless the Traveler with pleasure. The journey on the Path can be arduous, and while not all efforts seem to yield noticeable rewards, there is great fulfillment on this day.

The Light

In its light, Wunjo is the experience of true satisfaction. This may or may not come directly from sincere efforts, as Jera (ᛃ) would imply. The satisfaction that Wunjo brings can simply appear, without noticeable cause, and the Traveler is meant to enjoy it fully.

The Shadow

In its shadow, Wunjo is an alluring vice which tempts the Traveler to indulge in pleasure beyond what is beneficial. This chasing of pleasure threatens to misguide the Traveler off the Path.

As One

We all are meant to experience great pleasure in body, mind, and spirit. Truly, we are equipped for it. And along with pleasure, comes pain.

Life is full of both, a wide spectrum of sensation to be felt and processed.

Be open to all of the joy and pleasure which become available to you today, without grasping or longing for it to last even one moment more than it may.

Know that, as a human being, you are capable of experiencing all sensation to greater and greater degrees.

Know also that in order to experience greater light, your ability to more deeply integrate the shadow must be trained as well.
