The Light
Big Self and little self, hand in hand, traveling the Path together. The Traveler becomes aware of the Big Self who is always present, always ready to place a comforting hand on the shoulder, or place a special sign along the way which only the Traveler would recognize. This Divine partnership is destined for success.
The Shadow
And, like any relationship, there are cycles and seasons of connection. The winters can be harsh, especially when the summers have been abundant with joyful faith. When the connection to Big Self seems weak, the Traveler is tempted to abandon the faith already cultivated.
As One
There is no way to sever the connection between self and Self, for it is the way things are. As the Sun shines upon the Earth, so does the Big Self shine upon the little self.
And, just as there are days when clouds cover the sky, there are days when the light of the Self feels dim.
On those darkened days, you are encouraged to trust in yourself. You have already been shown how to hold on to faith. Remember the light of Dagaz (ᛞ), and know that the clouds will break, revealing the warm radiance of the Self once again.
